Product Engagement

For my product engagement I choose five companies that I keep close to my heart; Vans, NXY, Poptarts, Publix, and Netflix's. All of these companies are quite popular and getting them to interact with me was a struggle. I had a lot of success with Publix and Vans, as for the others I didn't get as much engagement as expected. I got an actual reply from Publix when mentioned how much I loved their store. Publix isn't a nation-wide store so I took the approach of saying how I couldn't live somewhere without a Publix, hoping this would catch their attention- it did. They replied back to me saying that they were so happy that I loved shopping with them. They also replied a second time when I tweeted that I loved them, they replied back by saying they loved me too. The was the most engagement I got from the companies I choose. Vans was the next to show a response.I tweeted out that their shoes were the best ones out there, and I also tweeted that I loved that you could customize there shoes if you wanted to. Vans responded by liking both of my tweets. As for the others my approach was uniform, which was probably the main reason why I didn't get a response. For NYX I tweeted that I loved their cosmetics, and then I also tweeted that I loved their specific butter gloss hoping this would get a response, but it didn't. For Poptarts I said that I loved their product and then also tweeted that if I was on an island with only Poptarts to eat that I would die happily. Neither of these tweets got a response from them. I then tried to get the attention of Netflix, which also didn't work. I brought up my favorite TV show and that they added to my binging addiction. What I observed from all of the companies that didn't respond was that they were all big companies that get tweets like that multiply times a day. To really get the attention of a company, I feel that you have to say something very original. My approach to do this did not succeed in the end.
