Many of us have experienced that moment when your parents finally let you drive by yourself. Although we were excited to finally have a piece of freedom, our parents on the other hand were not so peachy. While I watched this Subaru ad, it brought me back to that exact moment when my dad let me drive for the first time. That was what this ad intended to do. The use of the little girl in the beginning shows the perspective of a parents. Many guardians will relate to this because they'll always see as little kids, no matter how old we get. With this, the ad holds a pathos effect which draws out a connection to the buyers. The audience intended for this ad would be specifically parents who have children who are going to the be driving soon. The message that is being sent is that the father would let his little girl drive this car and not worry about her safety. You can see from the fathers attitude that he is concerned about his daughters safety more than anything, he even gives her a checklist of do's and don'ts. Through all these aspects Subaru is trying to convince their audience that their car is the safest car out there, you would even let your kids drive it. I know this from first hand because my own father picked out my first car, which so happened to be a Subaru.
