Gilmore Girls... Again

Many people all over the continent have one movie, one song, or one book that they keep returning back to. For most of my adolescents it was Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. The drama between the intelligent Elizabeth and the prejudice Mr.Darcy kept me wanting more and more. But as I have grown older I have fallen in and out of love with many different narratives. One being as most can tell, is Gilmore Girls. I loved this show more than any one person could. I have seen it an absurd amount of times and still love every bit about it. I first watched this show my sophomore year of high school with my mom and we were both instantly addicted. I’ve seen a lot of TV shows but I have never felt more of a connection than I did with Rory Gilmore. I loved everything about her, from her sense of style to the amount of books she read. I related with this character mostly because of the books she read. Like I mentioned before I feel in love with Pride and Prejudice at a very young age. I was reading classic literature before most kids even knew that these books existed. Through the books and Rory Gilmore falling in love for the first time, I knew that this coming of age show was for me. Rory Gilmore and I grew up together through high school and that’s the main reason I love this show so much. You grow to have a connection with all the characters and form the same love for Rory as her mother does. I think this show is so good because of how relatable their lives are. No matter how many TV shows I binge on Netflix, this one will always be my favorite.
